Biodemocracy

A shared platform for collaboration, where supply and demand align in real time and actions become collective outcomes.
A neutral ground
Is it possible to reduce the primary functions of society into a simple and intuitive platform we all can use?
Imagine if we could control all the basic economic and political functions using the same simple interface—a platform that ensures no one is economically exploited or politically disenfranchised, built and operated collectively: a neutral, co-owned infrastructure maintained by all who take part.

The purpose of the platform is to maximize human well-being within planetary boundaries, by coupling the free market and democratic governance with the realities of the internet age. And it’s not just a vision—it’s already being built.

By examining economic and political activity through the lens of natural and formal sciences, we begin to uncover the fundamental building blocks of society and its institutions. At its core, the economy is simply a set of metabolic processes operating across various scales.

Just like in living organisms, societal metabolism includes both anabolic and catabolic flows: production is anabolic; consumption is catabolic. When we internalise this, the economy becomes easier to understand—no longer a mystery, but a pattern that can be distilled into a dashboard: an interface so simple we all can use it to organise ourselves biodemocratically.

To explore the concept and its premises further, read Coexist by Jon Sundell for free online, or order it as paperback or audiobook. The book outlines the logic behind and blueprint for biodemocracy. Feel free to reach out to contribute or support the project by contacting us here.
